About Us
My name is Becky Glade.
I am certified in Orton-Gillingham. I have been a Special Education teacher for 30+ years and I love it! I have taught many children with dyslexia and other reading challenges. I am passionate about the positive difference Orton-Gillingham makes because of the success I've witnessed in all of my students.

My name is Starla Dixen. I am a passionate educator who has dedicated my work life to helping students learn how to become champion readers and spellers. I am certified in Orton- Gillingham and have experience working with students of all ages and abilities including those with dyslexia and other learning challenges. I love to build confidence by showing them that they CAN succeed!

Literacy Journey
Sessions
Welcome! We are so excited to help your child on his or her literacy journey! We only tutor students that we think we can help, and we take this commitment very seriously. We use the Orton-Gillingham method of teaching reading that incorporates phonics and fluency work. This is a direct, explicit, sequential, systematic, multi-sensory research based intervention. It has been life changing for us professionally and for many of our students. We have many students continue on to college or tech school and become successful in life.
Fall sessions will begin mid September. Each session lasts 50 minutes, and your fee includes the additional 40 minutes it takes us to write your child’s specific lesson plan and prepare the materials.
Fees
Sessions: $70 per session (Fall 2024)
This includes the additional 40 minutes prep time. For all new students/clients we will need to administer an assessment to best serve your student.
Payment: You can pay us weekly or monthly, that is up to you. We can email you an invoice at the end of each month if you decide to pay monthly. We take cash, check or Venmo (a service fee may be applied).
