Individual Tutoring Sessions
How long are sessions?
Sessions can start anytime. Each session lasts 50 minutes. We have a specific time slot reserved for your child. In order for OG to be successful, your child needs to attend tutoring twice per week. We are counting on you to be on time as we have back to back sessions.

What if I need to cancel a session?
If your child is sick, please let us know as soon as possible. You will not be charged if you miss a session for this reason. We will try to be as flexible as we can with activities, but we do have a specific time slot reserved for your child. We have a waiting list so in order to keep your time, please be on time. In order for OG to be successful, your child needs to attend tutoring twice per week.
You may text or call us at 651-270-9431 (Becky) or 715-781-7210 (Starla) if your child will be absent. If we have to cancel for any reason, we will let you know as soon as possible.
Will my child have homework?
There may be some assignments given, practicing a skill or sound we have worked on. We will try to keep these short and easy to complete. More importantly, your child should read each day. In order to improve reading, your child needs to be practicing reading using easy books (aka decodable). You can take turns reading every other page or paragraph with him or her. This gives them a chance to put into practice skills we have been working on each session.

Initial Evaluation
Yes, there is an initial evaluation. This is necessary to help identify the areas of need. This assessment includes a phonological awareness assessment, a brief spelling test, a reading evaluation, and a phonogram/grapheme test. This will be done prior to the first session of tutoring or at the first session if there is a scheduling issue. The fee includes the additional 40 minutes it takes us to write your child's specific lesson plan and prepare the materials.

Payments
We are asking for payment at the beginning of the month, however you can pay us weekly or monthly. If you plan to pay monthly, we can email you an invoice at the end of each month. We take cash, check or Venmo. A service charge may be added if Venmo is used.
